Peter Fontaine Hudson (1871-1948), one-time prominent local resident, and father of Mrs. R. K. (Harriette Mary) Tavel, of this city, died Saturday morning at the family home in Louisville, Ga., following a short illness. Funeral services and interment were held there Monday afternoon.
Besides Mrs. Tavel, other survivors include the widow, Leila Weddon Hudson, and another daughter, Mrs. W. S. (Sarah Louise) Spaulding, Louisville; two sons W. H. of Tampa and Lamar Fontaine of Mobile, Ala., a brother, Charlie Hudson and five grandchildren, including Ralph K. Tavel, Jr., and Misses Louise and Mary Ellen Tavel of Palatka.

Hudson Funeral At Lang's Chapel
Funeral services for Peter F. Hudson, 77, of Louisville who died at his residence Saturday, August 21 of a short illness, were held Monday, August 23, at 4 p.m. from Lang's Chapel. the Rev. B.C. McWhorter, pastor of Louisville Baptist Church officiated, and interment was in the Sandersville City Cemetery.
Mr. Hudson was born in Jefferson County, May 19, 1871 and was a member of the Louisville Baptist Church. He was married to the former Miss Leila Weddon.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. W.B. Spaulding, Louisville and Mrs. R.K. Tavel, Palatka, Fla., two sons, Harry W. Hudson, Tampa, Fla. and Lamar F. Hudson of Mobile; two brother, C.C. Hudson of Interlachen, Fla. and Furman Hudson of Montgomery, Ala; one sister, Frances Hudson of Montgomery, Ala. and five grandchildren.
Active pallbearers were Will Clark, T.H. Rivers, Albert Thomas, C.E. Whiddon, Milton Beall and Ray Hewitt.
Honorary pallbearers were C.F. Stone, S.E. Jones, Nesbitt Baker, Phillips Abbot, R.C. Myers, Walter Dickson, J.B. Stanley, and deacons of Louisville Baptist Church formed an escort.
