She was born March 11, 1921 in Canaan Vallay, WV a daughter of the late Roy Cussins and Ethel Nines Cussins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Minear Shoemaker in 2003.
She is survived by 1 son, Denny (Diana) Shoemaker, Thomas, WV, 3 grandchildren, James (Crystal) Shoemaker, Thomas, WV, Holly Shoemaker Sponaugle, Elkton, VA, and Janet Lambert, Morgantown, WV, and 7 great-grandchildren, Annabella, Addalaen, and Michael Shoemaker, Dustin and Emily Sponaugle, Madison and Zachery Lambert.
She was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Ralph Cussins and Raymond Cussins, and 1 sister, Opal Myers.
Ms. Shoemaker was a homemaker for the majority of her life.
She was affiliated with the Community Bible Church of Davis, WV.
Friends will be received Saturday, May 11, 2013 from 4-8 PM at Hinkle Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held Sunday, May 12, 2013 at 2:00 PM with Reverend John Calloaway officiating.
Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.
