DORIS BELL WILSON LOGAN

HEFLIN, LA. - Funeral services for Doris Bell Wilson Logan, 89, of Heflin, LA. will be held Monday, October 10, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. in Bistineau Baptist Church, Heflin, LA., under the direction of Rockett Funeral Home, Ringgold, LA. Officiating will be her grandson, Rev. Keith Taylor assisated by Rev. Wayne Reeves. Burial will follow in Bistineau Cemetery, Heflin, LA. Visitation will be Monday, October 10, 2016 at Bistineau Baptist Church. Family Time will be from 8:00 to 9:00 A.M. Regular visitation will be open from 9:00 until service time at 11:00 A.M.

Doris was born August 25, 1927 in Shelby County, Texas and went to be with her Lord and Saviour October 7, 2016 at LSU Medical Center, Shreveport, Caddo Parish, Louisiana.

Doris was a lifelong, faithful member of Bistineau Baptist Church in Heflin, Webster Parish, Louisiana, Doris loved to visit and help her church family.

Doris was a very talented lady and worked outside her home for many years. Some of the places that she worked were, The Louisiana Army Ammunition Plant during World War II, Bell Telephone Company, Webster Parish School Board Office and West Brothers Department Store. When her husband, Charles was in the Army she joined him in Tennessee and worked as a waitress to rent an apartment to live in. She had many special memories of that time spent away from home with Charles. Their special song was The Tennessee Waltz.

Doris also found pleasure in hunting and fishing. After her husband passed away she missed being able to go to the lake to fish and into the woods to hunt. Everyone will miss her cooking, especially her dressing and fried pies. She was always energetic and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Olen Daris and Norma Pate Wilson; husband, Charles Raymond Logan; and sisters, Dean Wilson Chandler and Patsy Wilson Keener Paul. Left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Barbara Logan Colley and husband, David of Luling, LA. and Charlene Logan Taylor of Heflin, LA.; sisters, Virginia Wilson Bailey and husband, David of Heflin, LA. and Lynda Wilson Hulion and husband, Bobby of Heflin, LA.; grandchildren, April Dawn Colley, Charles David Colley, Anna Christine Alford, Keith Wayne Taylor and Rachel Taylor Curet; great-grandchildren, Justin Dempster, Emma Lee Selman, Amanda Selman, Christopher David Colley, Claire Elitia Colley, Brandon Alford, Anna Bella Alford, Anna Michelle Taylor, James Logan Taylor, William Edward Taylor, and Luke Wayne Taylor.
