Mr. Carl Thaxton Foushee, 89, passed away May 6, 2013. He was born August 13, 1923 in Roxboro, NC to the late Charlie Lewis Foushee and Nannie Whitt Foushee. He was a member of Ardmore United Methodist Church. He retired from Universal Leaf Tobacco Company with over 20 years of service. Mr. Foushee served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Winston-Salem Kiwanis Club and was an avid golfer. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Helen Day Foushee of the home; a daughter, Betty Warden and husband John of Colfax, NC; a grandson, Jason Yandell and wife Jessica of Greensboro; a sister, Francis Timberlake of Roxboro. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00pm, Thursday, May 9, 2013 at Person Memorial Cemetery in Roxboro. Inlieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Ln., Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
