Bert E. Dix, 63, a life-long resident of Spinks Corners, dropped dead in a field from a heart attack at 10 o'clock this morning.
He had been working on his farm and went to visit Henry Nichols working in an adjoining field. The latter saw him drop suddenly. Coroner Louis Keilkowske was called but decided no inquest was necessary.
The body was removed to Bowerman's funeral home at Eau Claire. Funeral arrangements will be made later.
The deceased had been in ill health for some time. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Jessie Dix; a sister, Mrs. Sam Lewis of Spinks Corners and a step-son, Donald Bren, who is traveling and now is in New York.
