"Mrs Pearl Poletek Died This Morning - Mr Pearl Poletek died at the home of her daughter, Mrs Walter Harenda, 1324 North Union Street, this morning (March 1, 1949). Mrs Poletek was a member of the Transfiguration Church, Rosary Society, Villa Maria Society, and the St Stephen's Club. She is survived by her husband, John Poletek; two sons, John Poletek, Jr, and Joseph Poletek, both of Olean; three daughters, Mrs Walter Harenda, Olean, Mrs Kingston Olinger, Mt Jewett, Pa, and Mrs John Sylinski, Johnsonburg, Pa; two sisters, Mrs Hiram Brewer and Mrs Raymond Ross, both of Corry, Pa; one brother, Michael Flesiak (sic) [Felisiak], Corry, Pa; and seven grandchildren. The body was removed to the home of her son, 1507 River Street. Funeral arrangements are incomplete."

A requiem high mass was celebrated at nine o'clock at the Church of the Transfiguration by the Rev John Glazik. Burial was in St Bonaventure Cemetery. Pallbearers were Eugene Suchora, Joseph Kukulka, John Loftus, Stanley Jonak, John Germack and Edward Stanek.
