*Thomas Henry Bates, who died last Tuesday evening at the residence of Henry Austin, Esq., was a young man of most exemplary habits, who had won the regard of his associates, and had many warm friends. He had been reading for the past year or two in the office of I.R. Grovesnor. He suffered terribly excruciating pains in his body and head for many days before he died. His funeral will be attended, from Mr. Austin's residence, this afternoon at 4 o'clock, Rev. D. Putman officiating. Monroe Comm., Aug. 16, 1877.
