VERO BEACH, Fla. - Walton Chambers, 71, of Vero Beach, formerly of Boone County, W.Va., died Feb. 10, 1998, in Holmes Regional Medical Center, Melbourne, after a short illness.

He was a member of Meadow Fork Freewill Baptist Church, Hewett, W.Va., and an Army veteran. He was retired from American Electric Power Co.

Surviving: wife, Edith Maureen Nelson Chambers; son, Richard Walton Chambers of Vero Beach; brothers, Arvin and Jimmy Chambers, both of Hewett, Edgar Chambers of Greenview, W.Va.; sisters, Mina Baldwin of Ethel, W.Va., Audrey Nelson of Clothier, W.Va., Ethel Felty, Dora Brancato of Saint Clair Shores, Mich.

Service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Stevens Funeral Home, Madison, W.Va., with the Rev. Charles Ferguson and Earl Akers officiating. Burial will be in Elkins Cemetery, Hewett.
