A celebration of the life of Waneta Colson, 92, of Port Orford will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 1, at the Christian Center Church in Port Orford with interment to follow at the Port Orford Cemetery.
Waneta was born Nov. 30, 1921, in Lamata, the daughter of Elmer and Laura Buell Blanchard. She was raised and educated in central Oregon. She died Jan. 23, 2013, in Bandon.
She married Cecil Colson in 1937 and they raised three children, Everett, Wanna and Rhonda. They moved to Port Orford in 1953.
She enjoyed sewing, gardening and making quilts for all her family. She was a member of the Christian Center Church and a founding member of the Silver Springs Sewing Club.
Waneta is survived by her son, Everett Colson; daughter, Wanna Dee Ross; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter Rhonda; two sisters and three brothers.
