Final Rites Held For L. P. Reed, Sr.
Funeral services for L. P. Reed, Sr., 71 year old Brookhaven resident, were held Monday at 3 p.m. from the Pearlhaven Baptist Church with interment in Rosehill Cemetery with Hartman's Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Reed died at 4 a.m. Sunday at King's Daughters Hospital following a brief illness. He was a retired farmer.
Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Fannie Dunn Reed; four sons, C. D. (Chicken) Reed of Jackson, L. P., Jr. of Brookhaven, William C. of Laurel; Clifton of Ferriday, La.; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Nell Smith of Ferriday, La.; one brother, Joe Reed of Wisner, La., a sister, Mrs. Kelly Thompson of Denver, Colo., and 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Pallbearers were Tom Hickman, Carl Beeson, Harry Hickman, Claude Nations, John Hickman and Alton Brown.
Honorary pallbearers were deacons of the Pearlhaven Baptist Church.
