Robert Eugene Baumlein, 73, went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at 9:11 p.m. from the Bridge Hospice Care Center after battling cryptococcal meningitis for four weeks. He was born September 16, 1939 in Findlay to Charles and Ethel Baumlein. On May 14, 1960, he married the former Darlene Latta from McComb and she survives. They were soon to celebrate 53 years of marriage. He is also loved and survived by two daughters and one son: Anne (David) Cole of Findlay; Linette (Dan) Kemner of Pemberville and Alan (Tina) Baumlein of Mason, OH. Six of his greatest joys are his surviving grandchildren: McKenna Cole of Findlay; Clayton, Lane and Madeline Kemner of Pemberville; and Nikolaus and Rebekah Baumlein of Mason, OH. Also surviving Robert are his "adopted daughter" Devra Hall of Toledo; and two sisters, Bernadine Miller and Pauline Smith, both of Findlay. He is pre-deceased by 4 brothers: Warren, Richard, Alfred and John; and one sister, Marquerite Rarey. Robert was a member of Stonebridge Church of God in Findlay. He loved his Lord and lived his faith every day. He was a 1957 graduate of Findlay High School and worked at Collingwood Motors in Findlay after high school. In 1962 he started working for Pepsi Cola Bottling Company and was eventually the Plant Manager there. "The Pepsi Man" retired after 43 years of dedicated service. Robert was an avid golfer prior to and after retirement. He also enjoyed visiting rest homes and hospitals, hoping to bring a "ray of sunshine" to someone. At one time he was a hospice volunteer. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2013 and from 12:00-8:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 5, 2013 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay. Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 6, 2013 at Stonebridge Church of God, where visitation will be for one hour prior to the service. Presiding will be Pastor Howard Mayne, formerly of McComb UMC and Pastor Alan Baumlein. Memorials in Robert's name can be made to the Bridge Hospice Care Center, 1900 S. Main St., Findlay, OH 45840 and/or to Cancer Patient Services 1800 N. Blanchard St., Findlay, OH 45840
