Hortencia Acosta, age 53, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
On the wings of a butterfly, she went to meet her Lord and Savior in Heaven. Hortencia was born in Juan Mendoza, Chihuahua, Mexico on April 20, 1960 to Ezequiel and Joséfa (González) Acosta.
Hortencia was a resident of Socorro since 1995.
Hortencia enjoyed dancing and singing. Hortencia had a very giving spirit about her and was outgoing and friendly. Everyone she ever met, became her friend. Hortencia was always joking with her family and friends.
Hortencia loved and adored her family and she will always be remembered for her smile, her laughter and her beautiful heart.
Hortencia was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Josephina Portillo and her beloved son, Jesús A. Burrola.
Hortencia is survived by her devoted children, Dora Greenwood and her husband, Kenneth, Noe Burrola and Myriam Moya and her husband, Christopher, eight loving grandchildren, her brothers, Cipriano Acosta and his wife, Herlinda, Ezequiel Acosta Jr. and his wife, Carmen, Matilde Acosta and his wife, Patsy, Victor Acosta and his wife, María, Jesús Acosta and his wife, Darlene and Oscar Acosta and his wife, Dianna, her sisters, Alicia García and her husband, Salvador, Manuela Castro and her husband, Juan, Berta Molina and her husband, Leonel and Blanca Acosta and her husband, Martín Pérez.
Hortencia will also be greatly missed by other loving family members and many friends.
A Holy Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the San Miguel Catholic Church, 403 El Camino Real, Socorro followed by a Mass of Resurrection which will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. with Father Flavio Santillanes as Celebrant. Inurnment will take place in the San Miguel Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Cipriano Acosta, Ezequiel Acosta Jr., Matilde Acosta, Victor Acosta, Jesús Acosta and Oscar Acosta. Honorary Pallbearer is Noé Burrola.
