Adelaide was the daughter of James McGee and Elizabeth Ann Merklee. She married Herbert George Welch a Methodist minister on June 3, 1890 in Plainfield, NJ. They had two daughters Dorothy McGee b. June 17, 1891 and Eleanor Loveland b. Sept. 3, 1900.
Herbert was ordained an American Bishop of the Methodist Episcopal Church in 1916. He served in Japan, Korea, and China. His complete history can be found on Wikipeda. He lived to be 106 years old and was the oldest bishop in the Methodist church. On his 100th birthday a large party was thrown for him and one of the guests attending was Madame Chang Chi Scheck who flew in from Taiwan. He served as bishop for 53 years. At the time of his death he had one grandson, three gr. grandsons, and two gr. gr. grandchildren.
Adelaide preceded her husband in death by 18 years.
I was able to determine that Herbert was buried in Woodlawn Cemetery in the Bronx and I would assume that Adelaide was also buried there.
