HONEY GROVE - Luther Calvin Stevenson, 62, farm implement dealer here and one of 60 persons on a company trip to the Bahama Islands, died in Nassau Sunday morning from a heart attack suffered about eight hours earlier. Mr. Stevenson, winner of the trip in a sales contest sponsored by the J. I. Case company, had left with other winners by plane from Love Field, Dallas, January 14.
The funeral will be held here, Cooper Funeral Home to make burial in Oakwood Cemetery, but the time had not been announced.
Mr. Stevenson leaves his wife, the former Miss Katie Mae Thornton, whom he married November 11, 1920; . two children, Dwain Stevenson, Grand Prairie, and Mrs. Florine Fountain, Dallas; four grandchildren; these brothers and sisters: E. B. ' Stevenson, Spearman; Will B. Stevenson, Fort Smith, Ark.; Raymond Stevenson, Salinas, 'Calif., and Mrs. Ila Rowe, Fort Worth.
Son of the late William H. and Fannie (Earnest) Stevenson, L.C. Stevenson was born at Ladonia, August 20, 1896. A World War I veteran, he was a Church, of Christ elder here, and member of the Chamber of Commerce and the Woodmen of the World.
