— Rose Ann Gates (Mom), 74, from Gore (Gum Springs) passed away April 29, 2013 in Muskogee, OK.
Rose was born May 16, 1938 to Wilson and Mellie Montgomery in Gore, OK. On September 10, 1955 Rose married her soul mate Claude Howard Gates. Rose dedicated her life to her husband and her 13 children. She loved the farm life, raising cattle & chickens, cooking, canning, making jelly, quilting, reading, leather work, but most of all spending time with her family. Rose is preceded in death by her parents, Wilson and Mellie Montgomery; 1 daughter, Misty. Rose leaves behind to cherish her memories, husband Claude Howard; 8 sons, Tom Gates and wife Nancy of Haltom City, TX, Jim Gates and wife Donna of Gore, Johnny Gates and wife Pattie of Stilwell, Ron Gates and wife Teresa of Gore, Mark Gates and wife Dana of Gore, Tracy Gates of Gore, Forrest Gates and wife Tonya of Gore, William Gates and wife Jill of Gore; 4 daughters, Nancy Teafatiller and husband Calvin of Webbers Falls, Barbara James and husband John of Gore, Terry Box and husband Glen of Gore, Angela Fults and husband Cliff of Godley, TX; 30 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 3 brothers, Harold Jones, Sherman Jones, and Homer Jones; 4 sisters Betty Gates, Dorothy Smith, Wanda Hart, and Mary Louise Cantrell. Graveside Services will be 2:00 pm Friday, May 3, 2013 at Gates Family Cemetery in Gore, OK under the direction of Hibbs Funeral Home.
