Of California, she passed away in Duarte, California during a bone marrow transplant. She was the daughter of the late Curtis A. and Mary W. Long, former longtime residents of Festus. She was a graduate of Perryville High School and the University of Missouri at Columbia. She was a teacher in St. Louis County and California, and went on to a career in the medical industry, assisting creators and inventors of new medical technology in the marketing and licensing of medical devices and medications.
She is survived by a son Andrew Gray of SanDiego, CA; three brothers: Dr. Curtis Walton Long of Butler, Van Alen Long of Rosewood, IL, and Lowell 'Joe' Long of Oklahoma City, OK; a sister Carol Long Sturdevant of Houston, TX; two nieces Christine Long and Kimberly Long; six nephews: Curtis W. Long Jr., Kent Anthony Long, William Alen Long, Joseph Walton Long, Josh Andrew Long and Guy Sturdevant IV; three great nieces and a great-nephew.
Graveside services were held April 12 at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City, officiated by Rev. Gary Grey. Arrangements by Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
