Catharine B. Behmer, 82, of 2196 Millersville Road, died of natural causes Wednesday at the Essa Flory Hospice Center. Mrs. Behmer, whose nickname was "Cassie," was a tool runner and picker at K-D Tools. She retired in 1984 after 18 years. She previously worked three years at Henderson Umbrella Factory. She was a member of Evangel Assembly of God Church in Ephrata, Nimble Thimble Sewing Club and Willow Valley Swim Club. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Jesse L. and Mary Grace Stevens Drennan. She was married 63 years on Nov. 18 to Charles E. Behmer. Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter, Cathleen J., wife of Alvin Stoltzfus of Leola; two sons, Daniel J., husband of Sharon Behmer of Conestoga, and Stephen M., husband of Philomena Behmer of Quarryville; seven grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Loraine E. Heisler. (Lancaster New Era - Feb 6, 2004)
