Charles E. Behmer, 84, of 2196 Millersville Rd., Lancaster, died Monday at his residence.

He was the husband of the late Catherine B. (Drennan) Behmer, who died in 2004.

Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Harvey and Elizabeth Swinehart Behmer.

He had worked as a truck driver for Maslin Bros. of Lancaster for 16 years, retiring in 1968.

He was a member of New Providence Mennonite Church, and was a member of Teamsters Union 771. A US Army veteran of World War II, he served as a Technical Sgt in the European Theater with an artillery battery.

He is survived by 2 sons, Daniel J., married to Sharon Lehr Behmer, Conestoga and Stephen M., married to Philomena Sweigart Behmer, Quarryville; a daughter, Cathleen J., married to Alvin Stoltzfus, Leola; 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received on Friday from 10-11AM at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 441 N. George St., Millersville, with the memorial service to follow at 11AM. Interment in the Green Hill Cemetery. www.snyderfuneralhome.com
