ST. MARTINVILLE — Funeral Services will be conducted for Roger Paul Pourciaux, 66, at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 20, 2010, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church with Msgr. Douglas Courville officiating. Interment will be held at St. Bernard Cemetery #2 in Breaux Bridge with military honors by St. Martin Honor Guard.

Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Friday with a Rosary at 7 p.m. The funeral home will reopen at 8 a.m. on Saturday until service time.

A native of Breaux Bridge and resident of St. Martinville, Mr. Pourciaux passed away at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, February 16, 2010, at Dauterive Hospital.

Mr. Pourciaux was a veteran of the United States Army who served his country during the Vietnam War and was the recipient of two Purple Hearts, one Silver Star and numerous other medals. Mr. Pourciaux retired after nine years of service with a rank of Staff Sergeant. He was a member of the V.F.W. in St. Martinville, Disabled American Veterans Mid South Chapter-Memphis, Tenn., The Paralyzed Veterans of America, Mid South Chapter, Memphis, Tenn. and also the Bayou Chapter-New Orleans.

He is survived by his daughter Nicole Marie Pourciaux; one grandson Devin Alexander Pourciaux; one brother John E. Pourciaux and his wife, Sandy; and two sisters Lucia Calvit and her husband, Fred and Nursey Dupont, all of St. Martinville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Rena Thibodeaux Pourciaux; one sister Joycelyn Picard and one brother Theonile Pourciaux.

Pallbearers will be Devin Alexander Pourciaux, John E. Pourciaux, Robert Pourciaux, Patrick Picard Jr., Jacob Pourciaux and Ricky Martin.
