He was born February 22, 1887, in Wise County Virginia, a son of the late John and Lucinda Ramey Blanton, and was a retired coal miner.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Vertie Brown Blanton; eight daughters, Mrs Chredie Meadows of California, Mrs. Dorothy Clemons of Garrison, WV, Mrs Francis McGhee of Highcoal WV, Mrs Carrie Morrison of Blue Pennant, WV, and the Misses Maggie, Norma, Mazelia and Linda Blanton, all at home; two sons, Ted of Raymond, Washington and Willard of Whitesville WV, a brother, Lev Blanton of Raymond Washington; 16 grandchildren; and two great granchildren.
Two other sons preceded him in death.
