Helen Collins YONCHIUK of Prospect Hill, Tunkhannock, PA, died on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2000, at the Mercy Medical Center in Dallas, PA. She was born in Stowell, North Branch Township, Wyoming County, on July 23, 1931, the daughter of the late Lewis and Mary CAIN COLLINS. She was a graduate of the Mehoopany High School, Class of 1949, and had been employed as a telephone operator for Commonwealth Telephone Company, in Tunkhannock. She and her husband of 45 years, Eugene YONCHIUK, were the owners of Tunkhannock Monument Co., in Tunkhannock. She was a active member of the Church of The Nativity B. V. M.in Tunkhannock and its Altar and Rosary Society. She was a member of St. Mary's Villa Retreat League. Helen was a very special human being. There was nothing in the world she wouldn't do for anyone as she consistently demonstrated each day of her life. She was the best wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend that God could have ever blessed us with. She will never, ever, leave the many hearts she touched. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Gerald and Wendi YONCHIUK, of Harrisburg, PA; daughter, Mary Ann YONCHIUK of Tunkhannock; daughter and sons-in-law, Margaret (Peggy) and James FORTESE of Hagerstown, MD, and Barbara and George TOCZKO-MACULLOCH of Wyoming County, PA; sisters, Alice JENNINGS of Meshoppen, Dolores CULLEN of Gasport, NY, and Margaret KINTNER of Tunkhannock; grandchildren, Jimmy and Matthew FORTESE of Hagerstown, MD, Tyler and Shayne YONCHIUK of Harrisburg, and Rachel MACULLOCH of Dallas, PA; and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the Sheldon Funeral Home, 73 West Tioga St., Tunkhannock, with a Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of the Nativity B. V. M. in Tunkhannock at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Pieta Cemetery, Tunkhannock.
