Funeral services will be held Saturday 12 noon, March 6, for Lawrence Chester Ashdown, 84, 57 North 300 East, Bountiful, who died March 2, 1971 of natural causes.

He was born Nov. 9, 1886 in Bountiful to Richard and Mary Ann Hayes Ashdown.

He married Hazel Annie Brown Dec. 18, 1912 in Salt Lake City and later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on Sept. 4, 1918. She died June 6, 1954. On May 23, 1957 he married Hazel B. Cutler in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

He retired from Cudahy Packing Co. and was a brick layer for Delmont Hayes Masonry.

He was a member of Bountiful Ninth Ward, High Priest Home Teacher, and a a Temple Worker.

Survivors are his widow, three stepsons and four stepdaughters: Norris E. Brown, Glenn S. Brown, Richard H. Cutler, Mrs. Al (Fern) Bryden, Mrs. Howard (Wilma) Stapley, all of Bountiful; Mrs. Leon (Marjorie) Collins, Mrs. Walter (June) May, both of Salt Lake; one sister, Mrs. Elsie Hermason of Denver, Colo.; 28 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

Friends may call Friday 7-9 p.m. and Saturday one hour prior to services at the Bountiful Union Mortuary. Burial will be in the Bountiful Memorial Park.
