She married Richard Fish September 19, 1945. They had two sons: Richard "Fred" & David.
Her youngest son said, "My Mother came to Oregon with friends on a vacation, met the milkman and never went back... My dad was the milkman."
The Fish family owned & operated a dairy near Eugene, Oregon.
Shirley's older sister Odessa & niece Loretta that was about Shirleys age told horror stories about her young life as a adopted child by the Kimbrel's after her fathers death.
