PEORIA, Ariz. - JoEyln (Sangray) Brown, 53, of Phoenix, a native of Choteau, died of heart failure on Thursday, March 10 in Peoria.
Funeral services were held March 14 in Peoria, Ariz., at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Whitted Funeral Chapel is handling arrangements.
She was born Feb. 16, 1958, in Choteau. She grew up in Simms, and graduated from Simms High School in 1977. In 1982, she met her husband, Harley Brown, and they were married on Sept. 4, 1984. They moved to Phoenix in 1989, where she lived until her passing.
JoElyn touched the lives of everyone who knew her; she had a trademark sense of humor and contagious laugh that brought laughter to any situation. Jo will always remain in our hearts and will be forever loved and missed. We were so blessed to have her share her life with us. She will be smiling down on us all from heaven. Rest assured, we all have a guardian angel watching over us. Word from Jo: "Behave."
JoElyn is survived by her husband, Harley; a son and his wife, Brian and Aniko Brown of Las Vegas (soon to arrive granddaughter, Holly); a daughter and her husband, Lisa and Kevin Semenas of Phoenix, Ariz., (two grandsons, Shaun and Blake). She is also survived by her father, Robert Sangray of Great Falls; two brothers, Robert (Grace) Sangray (children Jason, Robert and Kelly) of Great Falls, Richard (Michelle) Sangray of Boise, Idaho; five sisters, Sara (Darell) Allen (children Shawna and Kari) of Parker, Idaho, Teresa (Dan) Koskimaki (children Earnest, Andrea and Erin) of Pinehurst, Idaho, Shirley (Guy) Dubois (children Dana, Mandy, Rick and Mykell) of Shelby, Noreen (Donny) Swearingen (children Jessica and Dawn) of Aztec, N.M., and Peggy (Yung) Vo (children Kyler and Kendra) of Phoenix. She also is survived by her in-laws, Don and Avis Brown of Phoneix; and brother-in-law, Lonnie (Gail) Brown (children Tim, Tony and Jennifer) of Phoenix, and Terry (Sara) Brown of Las Vegas.
Preceding her in death were her mother, Raeda Sangray; and stepmother, Eloda (Cindy) Sangray.
JoElyn was an organ donor. Both eyes went to someone who can see today. Her strong bones are with someone who can fold their arms - and walk today; and skin for skin graphs, so a burn victim won't have to endure the pain - today. We all loved you, Jo - and thank you for being a special spirit in our lives; all the lives you touched while on this earth; and all the pieces you left behind.
