Miriam A. Myers, 87, entered into God's eternal care Friday, May 1, 2009, at Hanover Hospital, with her family by her side. She was the wife of William J. Myers , who died in 1969.

Born August 6, 1921, in Hanover, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Alverta (Shildt) Amspacher.

Miriam retired from the Brethren Home Community, New Oxford, after 18 years of service. She was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church, McSherrystown, and a 1939 graduate of Littlestown High School. Miriam loved life through her flowers, puzzles, animals, class reunions, and travel, and especially her dog, Princess. She was an avid collector of over 14,000 postcards.

Surviving are seven children, Barbara Myers of Hanover, Patricia Sponseller and husband, Burnell of Hanover, Sue Feeser and husband, Jerry of Hanover, Mary Collins and husband, Donnie of Littlestown, Margaret May and husband, Scott of Hanover, Joel Myers and wife, Shelly of New Oxford, and Sharon Aupperle and husband, Boyd of Hanover; eight grandchildren, Jeff, Jay, Ken, Brandy, Shaya, Tara, Jessica, and Joel, Jr.; and two greatgrandchildren, Caitlin and Wyatt.

Friends and relatives will be received Sunday, May 3, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Murphy Funeral Home, 501 Ridge Ave., McSherrystown, with the rosary recited at 8 p.m. The funeral service and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Serving as pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
