Chaffee - Paul L. Pfefferkorn, 81 year old, of Chaffee, died Saturday at the Chaffee Nursing Center.
He was born June 12, 1915, in Chaffee, the son of William Joseph and Helen Mary Enderle Pfefferkorn.
He retired in 1982 as president of the Chaffee Lumber Co. He married Marjorie Ann Davidson Sept. 7, 1934. She died Mar. 3, 1983.
He was a U.S. Army veteran during World War II.He was a member of the St. Ambrose Catholic Church here and the St. Ambrose Men's Club. He was a past commander of the American Legion Post, past president of the Chamber of Commerce and past president of the Civic & Industrial Development Committee, all in Chaffee.
He is survived by two sons, Bill and David Pfefferkorn, a daughter, Pat Vessell; 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A son, four brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be held Monday at St. Ambrose Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
