She was the daughter of Johann Bernard and Nancy Gibson (Gess) Nicodemus. She married John Stephens Gray at Eddyville, Mahaska County, Iowa, on March 3, 1865. They had four children. She died at White Bluff Prairie, Stevens County, Washington Territory. She was buried in Deep Creek Cemetery, but it is unclear if her remains were later moved to Medical Lake Cemetery along with most other interments from Deep Creek.
