Henry H. Wilson was born in Milton, Chtndn County, Vermont. His family settled in Richland County, Ohio in the 1830's. He along with his parents and 6 brothers received the restored gospel of Jesus Christ as taught by Elders Milroy and Sherwood in Richland, Ohio and were baptized in 1836. With his family, he endured the persecution of that period and took refuge in Nauvoo, Illinois. There, at the age of 37, he Married Frances Kelly in 1840 , She was 24 yrs of age and a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints from Tennessee. Their marriage was solemnized in the Nauvoo Temple on January 20, 1846. They soon left Nauvoo and made the trek to Salt Lake City.
Henry and Frances and 5 of their children travelled from Illinois in the 1851 David Lewis Company. They left the east on 1 May 1851 and Arrived in SLC 9 September 1851 Although this company was initially organized as part of the 3rd Fifty in the John G Smith company it travelled independently and reached Salt Lake Valley in advance of all the 1851 organized companies. The family then left SLC for Dixie in 1862 becoming a Pioneer family of Washington County. Later they settled in St. George. They are the parents of Ephraim Wilson.
