Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Cardine Horstman of 209 Martin Street, Honey Grove, were held at the Main Street Presbyterian Church at 4:00 o'clock Friday, afternoon, July 27. Officiant at the last rites was the Rev. Sam Rice of Henderson, former pastor of the Main Street Presbyterian Church. Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home directed interment in Oakwood Cemetery.
Named pallbearers were Martin Ohr, Jr., B. P. Nunnelley, Theo Avery, Frank Roddy, Bace Carter and R. M. McCleary.
Mrs. Horstman, 87, died at the Sanitarium of Paris at 10:30 p.m., July 25, 1962 after a two months illness.
A native of Mount Clemens, Michigan, Mrs. Horstman was born December 18, 1874. Her parents were the late Mr. and Mrs. Christian Loschke.
She was married to F. W. Horstman on November 26, 1896. He preceded her in death on July 28, 1953.
Mrs. Horstman came to Honey Grove when she was six years of age and had made her home here for the past 81 years.
She was a member of the Main Street Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include two sons, Louis Horstman of Honey Grove and Robert Horstman of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two daughters, Miss Mina Horstman and Mrs. Ada Wells, both of Honey Grove; two sisters, Mrs. Fred Bach and Mrs. Mary Bauer, both of Honey Grove, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Those attending the funeral of Mrs. F. W. Horstman from out of town were; Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Yeager, Garland, Mrs. Lee McLane, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Bach and family all of Garland, Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Edington and family of Grand Prairie; Mrs. Gordon Lochridge and Karen from Denton and Mrs. Hamp Morgan from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Also attending were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Horstman and sons of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
