Burton Eugene Jepsen Torrington, Wyoming-Burton Eugene Jepsen, 72, died at his home on August 11, 1999. Funeral Services will be at 10:30 am on Friday, August 13, 1999, at the Colyer Funeral Home Chapel with the Pastor Jerry Hackett officiating. Burial will follow in Valley View Cemetery in Torrington. Friends may call from 9am to 7pm. The casket will be closed at the service. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials be directed to the River of Life Church c/o the family. He was born December 21, 1926, in Henry, the son of John Edison "Eddie" and Florence Mae (McKee) Jepson. He attended school at Huntley, graduated in 1945, and left immediately to the Army. He served in the Army Military Band 269 A.G.F., Fort Riley, Kansas. After his discharge in December 1946, he worked for Wyrulec Company for a short time, then worked for Hi Line Construction. He then went on to work for United Telephone Company and retired in Chappell, after 26 years. He returned to Torrington, Wyoming in 1986 and worked as a carpenter until 1995 when he had to quit due to ill health. He married Frances Darlene Backhaus on November 22, 1953, in Torrington, Wyoming. He was a member of the River of Life Church in Torrington. He is survived by his wife, Frances, of the family home; three sons Robert and Malinda Jepsen of Blair; Richard Jepsen and Ronald and Terry Jepsen of Chappell; his father John "Eddie" Jepson of Torrington, sister Betty Mae O'Brien of Fort Laramie, Wyoming, a brother Donald Jepson of Douglas, Wyoming, and seven grandchildren, Aaron, Christopher, Michael, Brandon, Kimberly, Jason, Lynn Jepsen. He was proceeded in death by his mother Florence Jepson. Colyer Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
