John (Roy) Rogers, 59, of Porterville, CA. was born on September 12, 1953 in McAlester, OK. to Peggy (Creekmore) Ketcher and John Harold Rogers, and went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 16, 2013.
Roy was a supportive and loving husband to his wife of 39 years, Norma Rogers, as well as a wonderful and devoted father to his four daughters, and grandfather (otherwise known as Poppy) to his fourteen grandchildren. He was a good man and was loved by all and will be dearly missed.
Roy was a die hard Steelers fan. He enjoyed the outdoors as well as bowling, video games and watching T.V. He was known as the walking, talking T.V. Guide as a young boy. He was employed by Domino's Pizza for over twenty-three years. He was dedicated to providing for his family. If you asked Roy what his greatest accomplishment was in life, he would tell you his kids were his greatest accomplishment. Roy is preceded in death by his father John Harold Rogers, his brother David Rogers, his sister Kimberly Sexton, his granddaughters Crystal and Christina Fuentes, his nephews Galen Clayton and Wesley Wayne Baker, and his father-in-law Alton Tillery. Visitation will be at Myers Funeral Home from 3 to 7 pm Sunday. April 21, 2013. The Celebration Service will be held at Myers Chapel at 10 am Monday, April 22, 2013. Interment is at Woodville Cemetery.
