Funeral services for Mattie Mae Hart, widowed, were held Monday at her home near Cooter after her death Friday night, February 4, 1956, at the age of 59.
Rev. Smith of Caruthersville officiated at the simple ceremony while a few friends and relatives gathered to witness the last rites.
Having spent 17 years in this community, Mrs. Hart was a native of Henderson County, Tenn., before taking up residence here.
Survivors include: four daughters, Mrs. Elsie Medlin of Steele, Mrs. Louise Rushing, Mrs. Graple Boone, and Mrs. Neldene Uselton, all of Cooter; a son, Cecil Hart of Steele; four brothers, Guy and Son Tomblin of Steele, Clarence Tomblin of Cooter, and Jim Tomblin of Chicago; and 17 grandchildren.
Interment was in Mt. Zion Cemetery with German Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
