George Peter Mode, the oldest of 8 children born to Valentine Mode and Katherine Schilche on April 28, 1848.
George was labeled as having dementia as early as the 1880 census and was in and out of State Hospitals all his life. He spent his last years living with his brother Peter Mode and died at the age of 94 in Elk Prairie, Jefferson County, Illinois.
George apparently never married and is my husband's great-granduncle, since he is the brother of my husband's great-grandmother, Dennine "Dennie" Mode Singleton.
My husband would love to communicate with any descendants of George's siblings and would dearly love any available pictures of this family.
