Chaffee - Juanita Clara Capshaw, 81 years old, of Chaffee, died Tuesday at the family home in Chaffee.
She was born in Bleda, Mo. on Sept. 17, 1917, the daughter of John and Bertha Amrhein Scheeter. She married Robert H. Capshaw Apr. 18, 1942. He preceded her in death May 12, 1995.
She is survived by two sons, Robert and Ben Capshaw; five daughters, Brenda Welsh, Mary Jo Asel, Barbara Kohlfeld, Joyce Capshaw and Lisa Cushing; a sister, Viola Duren; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters.
She worked at Capshaw Motor Co. and was a partner in Ann's Insurance Agency. She was city Clerk of Chaffee 1981-1983 and Executive Director of Chaffee Housing Authority 1986-1993.
She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, the Daughters of St. Ambrose, Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 3127 and American Legion Post 389.
Funeral Mass will be held Saturday at St. Ambrose Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
