Chaffee - Funeral service for Levi J. Scheeter of Chaffee will be held Friday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery.
Mr. Scheeter, 74 years old, died today at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Jan. 24, 1915, at Caney, the son of John and Bertha Amrhein Scheeter. He and the former Adella Scheeter were married Feb. 19, 1944.
He was a retired farmer, and a member of St. Ambrose Church, its Men's Club and the Chaffee Elks Lodge.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Randy L. Scheeter; two daughters, Donna Lape and Sharon Todt; three sisters, Kathryn Scheeter, Juanita Capshaw and Viola Duren; 11 grandchildren, a step-grandchild and a step- great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.
