Pvt. D.B. Ballew, 19, Was Casualty March 2
Pvt. D.B. Ballew, 19 years old, marine, was killed March 2 on Iwo Jima, his sisters, Mrs. Charles Decker, 1736 Corrington avenue, and Mrs. Wesley Shirley, 633 Ewing avenue, have been notified.
Private Ballew was born in Cowgill, Mo., where he attended school. He entered the service in 1944.
He leaves also his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Daniel B. Ballew; three brothers, William Ballew, Ralph Ballew and Lloyd Ballew, and two other sisters, Mrs. Walter Kincaid, and Mrs. W.L. Misel, all of Cowgill.
