Wife of George Brownell, aged 67 years.

The November 3, 1883 edition of The Otsego Republican reported Harriet's death as follows:

"Mrs. H. N. Brownell, wife of George Brownell, deceased, who resided with her daughter, Mrs. Delos Robinson, in this village, died Oct. 26th, after an illness of many years. Her funeral services were conducted at her late residence, on Monday last, by her pastor, the Rev. H. G. Harned [or Harnod] of Mt. Vision. Mrs. B. buried her husband at Lake City, Minn., a few years since."

On the same page as the above notice, and also in the November 10, 1883 edition of The Freeman's Journal, Harriet's death was reported with a poem:

"At Hartwick, October 26th, Mrs. HARRIET N. BROWNELL,

Harriet's husband, George Brownell, died on October 5, 1866 in Lake City, Wabasha County, Minnesota, as reported in the October 20, 1866 edition of the Lake City Leader:

"DIED.
In Lake City, Minn., October 5th, 1866, MR. GEORGE BROWNELL, in the 51st year of his age. Mr. Brownell came from Otsego County, N. Y. to this State about two years ago. He had been suffering from asthma for two years previous to that time. He came to try the influence of our health-giving climate, but came too late. The disease was too deeply seated. Neither climate nor medicine could benefit him. His sufferings were great, especially during the night time. It was then that he was accustomed to speak of his home in Heaven and say, 'There shall be no night there.' The church and his family have suffered a great loss. But a bright ray of hope is left them that the separation shall not be final.

Light from its load the spirit flies;
While heaven and earth combine to say,
'How blest the righteous when he dies!'"
