A Solemn Requiem High Mass was celebrated at funeral services at 9:30 a.m., Saturday in the Roman Catholic Church at Mexico, X. Y.. for Mrs, Helen Lashway, 71, widow of Nelson Lashway and sister of Alexander Gardner of Lake Placid. Mrs. Lashway died June 2,in the home of a son, Fred Lashway, 40 South drive, Rome, after an extended period of failing health. She was born Oct. 11, 1881, in Ottawa, Canada, a daughter of Louis and Alphena Ronelle Gardner. She was married in Rome in July, 1898. Mr. Lashway died in 1942. The couple resided in the Town of Florence and in Mexico for some time after their marriage. For the past six years, Mrs. Lashway has made her home with the son. She leaves the son, two daughters, Mrs. Bud Lasalle. Vienna, andMrs. Alan Rose, Buffalo; two other brothers, George Gardner and Nelson Gardner Malone; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.Burial was in Mexico, N. Y
