Both children were fathered by Isaac BOOTH and since Isaac never acknowledged his son or daughter, Sarah raised their two children and gave them her surname of KELLER. DNA has proven he was the father of Sally and John.
Isaac was a part of the VA Legislature and there was even a petition to have him removed from his seat for poor character - living with his housekeeper, Christina Carr (whom is rumored he later married). Together they had several children.
In 1830, John KELLER married Lucinda Sarah MITCHELL in Barbour County, (W)VA and subsequently issued nine children, two of which died in infancy, two dying as young adults, with five children growing to adulthood.
Lucinda passed away in 1852 and John was remarried by 1853 to Ellen Jane "Virginia" MCINTOSH (b.1827 and not to be confused with her new daughter-in-law and 1st cousin of the same name, Ellen Jane MCINTOSH born almost exactly a year later in 1828).
John fathered five more children with Ellen Jane "Virginia", with all five children reaching adulthood.
John lived a full life, and is frequently mentioned in county records as executor's of wills, and prominent as a leader in his local community. The "Justice" title on his marker also leads me to believe he was, in some degree, local law enforcement or acted in some official capacity.
John fathered fourteen children, and had more than 60 grandchildren at the time of his death. He proceeded his second wife in death, and passed away on 11 Aug 1887 at the age of 78 years. John is buried in the Pleasant Creek Methodist Church Cemetery in Barbour County, WV.
I am proud to call him my family and my 4x Great Grandfather.
