After the death of Hattie's sister, Maude, Hattie helped raised Her 3 nieces and later married Her widowed brother-in-law, Samuel Arthur Bacon (Nashville, Arkansas), son of Jesse James Bacon and Rebecca Elizabeth Reese. Hattie and Samuel lived in Taylor Co., Texas and were the parents of 3 sons (who died after childbirth) and a daughter, Gloria Frances (born May 26, 1923).
