Juanita Mathis, age 83, of Hazlehurst died April 7, 2013 at her residence.
Mrs. Mathis was born September 15, 1929 in Wheeler County to the late Jim Watson and the late Ida White Watson. She was a Homemaker and member of the Hazlehurst Church of God. She was preceded in death by a son, Larry Mathis.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Ira Mathis of Hazlehurst; Daughter, Pat Mathis of Hazlehurst; Son, Steve Mathis of Alamo;
Sister, Clara Green of Fort Valley; Brother, Bradley Watson of Hazlehurst and Dennis Watson of Thompson; Four Grandchildren, Six Great-Grandchildren, 1 Great-Great Grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Monday evening from 5-8pm at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at 1:00pm in the Chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home with Rev. Nathan Smith and Rev. Donnie Brown officiating.
Interment will follow in Alamo City Cemetery.
The family will assemble at the residence of Angie and Bobby Taylor, 48 Elton Street, Hazlehurst.
