JOHN STRICKLAND
Midland - Services for John F. Strickland, 55, owner of Strickland Cleaners here, were set for 2 p.m. Monday in Alamo Heights Baptist Church with burial in rest Haven Cemetery directed by Newnie W. Ellis Funeral Home.
Strickland became ill Saturday while on an outing at Lake Brownwood. He was dead on arrival at a Brownwood Hospital.
Born Feb. 12, 1917, in Snyder, he lived in Midland 20 years. He was a member of the Alamo Heights Baptist Church and was married to Martha Ritchie in Snyder May 13, 1939.
Survivors include his wife of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Nelda Taylor of Snyder; two brothers, E. G. Strickland of Odessa and Clovis Strickland of Tularosa, N.M.; three sisters, Mrs. Stella Jones of Fluvanna, Mrs. Laura Lady of Colorado City and Mrs. Eula Ragsdale of Odessa.
