A sixth generation Texan whose family came to the area in 1825. He was a native and life long resident of Jasper.
He retired from I. U. O. E., local # 450, Pipeline Construction, Dayton, Texas. He was recruited by Bear Brant to play football at Texas A&M in 1954. Jimmy loved to travel, raise bird dogs, garden, and watch high school football.
He was preceded in death by parents, Robert C. Pace, Sr. and Jesse V. Pace, brothers Robert C. Pace, Jr. and Hardy Allen Pace, sister Mary Pace Mallett.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Jean Pace, daughters Dianne Pace, Jennifer Pace Beaty and husband Michael, Katy Pace; sisters Aileen Nunnally and Katherine Baldwin; two grandchildren.
Burial: Hancock Cemetery, Jasper, Texas
Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Jasper.
