Donna Mae Musgjerd, 82, of Rochester, formerly of Kenyon, died Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at Samaritan Bethany Home in Rochester.

Donna was born April 11, 1930 in Holden Township, Minnesota the daughter of Simon and Ingebor (Jacobson) Nesseth. She attended District 54 Underdahl country school and later Kenyon High School graduating in 1947. Donna then attended Business College in Minneapolis studying business and accounting. Donna was united in marriage to Owen Musgjerd on March 26, 1949 in the Vang Lutheran parsonage in Dennison. The couple made their home in Kenyon. Owen and Donna owned and operated Self Serve Grocery in Kenyon. The name changed to H and M (Hukriede and Musgjerd) and then Owen''s Fairway Grocery. Owen and Donna sold the store and retired. Donna moved to Rochester in February of 2008.

Donna enjoyed playing card games like solitaire, cribbage, twenty one and also belonged to a bridge club. She liked to sew, making dresses, embroidery, and darning socks, when needed. Organizing drawers was a specialty of Donna''s. Everything in a drawer had its own spot. Pens, scissors, utensils, all had their own box. She enjoyed planting flowers and gardening. After retirement, Owen and Donna would travel in their motorhome. Sometimes they''d travel alone and other times with other friends with the Southern Honkers or Winne Ha Ha Motorhome Club. Overall the couple made it to all 50 states, Mexico, and a trip out East to Vermont during the fall season. They would also travel during the winter months to Texas. Owen and Donna were fortunate to travel to Norway twice where they''d visit family.

She is survived by her husband Owen Musgjerd of Rochester; two daughters Diane (and Paul) Huseth of Rochester; Jean Musgjerd of Rochester; son David Musgjerd of Northfield; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a brother Ingram (and Beverly) Nesseth of Kenyon; and a sister Sandra (and Harold) Fogelson of Kenyon.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother Orester Nesseth and a sister Joan Flom.

Visitation will be at Holden Lutheran Church on Saturday, April 6, 2013 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Holden Lutheran Church with the Reverend Heather Culuris officiating. Interment will be in the Holden Lutheran Cemetery in Kenyon. Memorials are preferred to Holden Lutheran Church. Arrangements by Michaelson Funeral Home, Kenyon.
