A homegoing service for Mrs. Gertrude Lowery Cummings will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Heritage Funeral Home in Red Springs, the Revs. Matthew Jones and Ricky Dial officiating. Interment will follow in Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Rennert.
Cummings was the daughter of the late Hector and Atalia Bell Lowery.
She was preceded in death by three brothers; three sisters; and a very special sister, Rosa L. Lowery; a son, John H. Blanks; two grandchildren, Ronnie Lowery and Princess Noel Lowery; and a special nephew, John G. Brooks.
She is survived by her son, Donald Ray Lowery of Red Springs; two grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; two very special nephews, Eddie McMillan and David Teague; a very special niece, Teresa Teague; and a host of other nieces, nephews and friends.
