KEOSAUQUA. -- Mrs. O. N. Jemison, 77, died Sunday about noon at her home in Keosauqua. She had been in failing health for several years and was seriously ill the past week.
The former Anna Ewing, she was the daughter of William and Nancy Rupe Ewing and was born April 26, 1885, near Mount Sterling. She was married Dec. 24, 1902, to O. N. Jemison of Keosauqua, who survives. They lived in and near Keosauqua.
Mrs. Jemison was a member of the Christian Church.
Surviving besides her husband are two sons, Maurice Jemison of Oskaloosa and Harold Jemison of Keosauqua; one daughter, Mrs. Irma Koonts of Keosauqua; four grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Clarence Ewing of Pittsburg, Ben Ewing of Mount Zion, Martin Ewing of Garden City, Kan., and Emmett Ewing of Bonaparte; and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Jemison of Stockport and Iva Ewing of Mount Zion.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Phillip and Carl Jemison; three brothers and two sisters.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Christian Church with the Rev. John G. Ballensky of Sigourney officiating. Burial will be in Purdom Cemetery. The body is at the Burnett-Catcott Funeral Home.
