Union - Mrs. Bertha Young Gregory, 78, died at her home on Union Route 3 at 1:30 a.m. Friday after a brief illness. She was a lifelong resident of Union County and oldest member of Hebron Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, J. C. Gregory and one daughter, Mrs. Lola Gregory Betenbaugh of Union Route 3; three sons, Ernest of High Point, N.C., Ralph of Hendersonville and J. C. Gregory Jr., with the U. S. Army on Okinawa.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 3 p.m. at Hebron Baptist Church by the Revs. Maurice Garner and Coy Bates. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be James Tucker, Roy Grady Sr., Reuben Jolly, Broadus Gregory, Charlie Rochester, Furman Fendley.
The body is at Brown-Bolton-Jolly Mortuary and at 1 p.m. will be placed in the church. The family is at the home.
