We visited with your great aunt Beulah Melvina "Bill" Maroney several times in her home. Then we usually stopped by the retirement home where she lived later every time we went through Conway. She gave us quite a bit of information.
You inquired about John H. Maroney. We have his first wife's descendants and most of his second wife's listed. The following is part of our information:
John H. Maroney, born 21 Nov 1847, died 11 Nov 1922, buried in the Eureka Cemetery. He married first Rebecca Jane Steen, born 26 Jan 1853, died 29 March 1922, buried at the Versailles, MO cemetery. Rebecca married second John Allen, who is buried beside her in the Versailles cemetery.
John and Rebecca's children were:
Mollie E. Maroney, born 24 Jan 1870, died 20 Sep. 1935, married Jess Crow, born 05 May 1865, died 07 Apr 1961. Both buried in the Versailles cemetery. Mollie & Jess' children were Claude L. Crow; Maude (Crow) Reed; and Charley Crow.
John & Rebecca's second child: Martha Louise "Mattie" Maroney, born 16 Feb 1872, died 07 Jan 1919. Mattie married Alfred Heinemann, born 20 Jan 1861, died 27 June 1928. Both Alfred and Mattie are buried in the Versailles cemetery. Alfred and Mattie's children were: August Heinemann and Louise (Heineman) Comer. August is my wife's father [we have all descendants of Alfred and Mattie, too many to enter here. Alfred and
Mattie are Dorothy L. Heinemann Williams grandparents].
John and Rebecca were divorced and Rebecca moved to St. Louis, MO with their two children. Alfred Heinemann was in St. Louis on business and met Martha Louise. They were later married and lived in Versailles, Morgan County, MO. Later they moved Rebecca and Mollie to Versailles also.
John remained in Webster county where he later married Mattie Robertson. John
and Mattie had two children: Mabel Lee Maroney born 19 Mar 1897, died 27 Dec 1955. She married Ivan Austin and they had a son Murl Lee Austin who married Freda Belle Ball. John and Mattie's second child was Nannie Lynn Maroney born May 1900 died 02 May 1935. She married Aubrey Bart Davis and had Emery Jay Davis who married Lucille Lond and Lova Mae Davis who married Clarence Gordon "Junior" Bonham.
