Born in Oglethorpe County, GA, the son of John Tatum Fullilove and Lucy Greer. He was a successful planter and migrated to Alabama and then to Mississippi, settling in Vaiden, Carroll County. He married first, Mary Adeline Taylor, who bore all of his six children. After her death he married Mary A. Geren & Susan E. Gordin. He was a veteran, US Army, Mexican War, 1846-1848.
