Son of (unknown) Noah & Catherine (unknown). He was born in Lincoln County, TN, where he married Rebecca Gunter. They moved to Attala County, MS, about 1847. He was a successful farmer and served as Sheriff of Attala County during the Civil War. Alexander is buried in the Salem Methodist Church Cemetery, off Hwy. 35, about 10 miles south of Kosciusko, MS.
